A Whirlwind Week + one more

It’s really proved to be a whirlwind week. A client of mine, an agronomist, called to invite me to attend Manitoba Potato Days in Brandon.  “Be there at 8:00 and have breakfast with the farmers.” he told me on the phone Tuesday afternoon. “Spend the day at the show.”

So less than a week after Ag Days, that invitation had me up at 5:00am this morning, once again heading west to Brandon’s Keystone Centre, this time to meet Manitoba’s potato growers.

After listening to several speakers and with a bit of information overload, I wandered the booths,  introducing myself, swapping business cards  and asking questions. Business development is still all about getting in front of the right people who need/want what you ‘got’. What better way to fish where the fish are -than at a trade show.

Tomorrow I head out to Stonewall for a MAFRI (Manitoba Agriculture Food and Rural Initiatives) Kickstart Your Food Product Workshop, an all day event I’m getting really excited about.

Oh, and one more thing, I’ll let the cat out of the bag, I’m speaking at MAFRI’s Direct Farm Marketing Conference coming up in Dauphin,  March 8-9. More about this as we get closer to those dates.
